Sponsorship Request to Support Young Women’s Hockey
June
2010
The
Scarborough Sharks Intermediate
women’s hockey team is soliciting sponsorship to provide financial support for
the various player development commitments the team has made towards the success
of their upcoming hockey season. Girls and young women’s hockey has seen huge
gains in the number of players participating. The interest in the game reached a
new level in the spring of 2009 with the first National
Midget Championship, held in Calgary, Alberta. Scarborough was Ontario’s
representative in this inaugural event and returned home as the Silver Medalist.
The Sharks Intermediate team carries on the tradition of this success as a group
of dedicated 18-21 year old young women, the majority of whom are university
students. They play the game for the enjoyment it brings, the life skills it
develops and the thrill it can provide when they win a championship.
The
team participates in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey
League which is a member of the Ontario
Women’s Hockey Association. In addition, the team competes in a number of
prestigious hockey tournaments, including the Pittsburgh Invitational and the Aurora Silver Stick. Last season’s Sharks team was the champion in
both these major tournaments and the majority of this coming seasons roster are
returning players. The coaching staff believes the “rookies” will also help
this talented team continue as a strong contender this season.
To
achieve success in anything we do in life takes considerable time and
commitment, as well as money. Each player is looking for a personal sponsor in
the amount of no less than $300. Your financial support will go a long way in
meeting the teams operating budget. As a team sponsor your company’s name will
be on the bottom of the back of the player’s jersey. Playing throughout the
Greater Toronto Region and various provincial tournaments your corporate name
will receive broad exposure. Your support will also be acknowledged in the
“Team Supporters” section of our web site. All Shark families will be asked
to use the services of our sponsors.
I
encourage you to learn more about our team and its players by visiting our web
site at www.elitegirlshockey.com.
On
behalf of the teams coaching staff and the players, I thank you for your
consideration. Hockey is a game we enjoy with great passion and your support
will be remembered throughout this hockey season.
Sincerely,
Team
